ANNUAL AWARDS
Distinguished Alumnus Award
- One to three to be awarded annually to
School
of
Medicine
and/or house staff alumni for career long achievements in the theory and practice of medicine, with leadership contributions at the community or national level.
- Nominations
accepted from alumni and faculty.
Distinguished Faculty Award
- One to three to be awarded annually to current
School
of
Medicine
faculty. One award will be for excellence in teaching medical students in the basic sciences or clinical medicine. The other award may recognize longstanding achievements, contributions, and leadership in research or academic programs of the
School
of
Medicine
.

OCCASIONAL AWARDS
William G. Anlyan, MD Lifetime Achievement Award
- To be awarded on occasion to School of Medicine and/or house staff alumni, or School of Medicine faculty for extraordinary leadership and accomplishment in the field of medicine at the national level.
- Nominations
accepted from alumni and faculty.
*NEW* Young Alumnus/na Achievement Award
- To be awarded on occasion to honor an alumnus within 10 years of graduation who have demonstrated exemplary serivce or achievement in their chosen profession or community.

Humanitarian Award
- To be awarded on occasion to an alumnus or faculty member for lifelong service to society, and to include specific documentation of service contributions.

Distinguished Service Award
- To be awarded on occasion to an individual for outstanding volunteer service and/or fundraising efforts on behalf of Duke University Medical Center
- Nominations
accepted from alumni and faculty.
Honorary Alumnus Award
- Awarded on occasion to an individual who is not an alumnus of Duke, but who, because of long, dedicated, and distinguished service, has become a notable and important part of the Medical Center family and the mission of Duke University Medical Center.
